How do I disable the Windows XP built-in firewall?

Please note: these steps should only be followed if you are installing another firewall or already have another firewall installed.

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click on Network Connection. (If you don't have a list of you internet adapter(s), click on Network Connections again.)
3. Right-click the connection that you use for the Internet, and then click Properties.
4. Click the Advanced tab.
5. Click to clear the Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet check box.
6. Apply the changes and click ok.
