How do I setup Outlook 2003 for E-mail?

1. To open Outlook 2003 double-click the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 icon on your desktop

2. If the E-mail Accounts wizard doesn't launch on it's own, select Tools from the top menu, and E-mail Accounts... from the drop-down list

3. Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next to continue



4. On the Server Type screen, select POP3 and then click Next to continue

5. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) page you will need to fill in your information for each of the six fields. For Your Name type in your name, for E-mail Address type in your full e-mail address. In the User Name field type in your user name (which is your full email address) and in the Password field type in your password. For Incoming mail server (POP3) type in mail.yourdomain. For Outgoing mail server (SMTP) type in mail.yourdomain. When each of the six fields have been filled, click the Test Account Settings ... button

6. If anything shows up as Failed, return to the previous window and double-check your settings

 

7. At this point you have finished setting up Outlook 2003 and need to click the Finish button. You may now begin to use Outlook 2003 to send and receive e-mail.

How to verify Outlook 2003 settings

1. Open Outlook 2003, select Tools from the top menu, and then E-mail Accounts... from the pull down list

 

2. In the E-mail category, select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click the Next button to continue




3. Select your mail.yourdomain E-Mail account, and then click the Change... button

 

4. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) page you will need to verify your information for each of the six fields. For Your Name make sure your name is entered, for E-mail Address make sure your full e-mail address is entered. In the User Name field make sure your user name has been entered (which is the full email address) and in the Password field re-type your password to ensure it's entered correctly. For Incoming mail server (POP3) ensure that it's entered as mail.yourdomain. For Outgoing mail server (SMTP) make sure it's set to mail.yourdomain.

 

5. Next, click on the More Settings... button. This will take you to the General tab. Ensure that the Mail Account is a descriptive name for your mail.yourdomain E-Mail account, and then select the Outgoing Server tab at the top.

 

6. Make sure that My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is not checked off. The only time you need to have your outgoing E-Mail authenticated is when you need to use Outlook 2003 from a remote location, such as a hotel, internet cafe, T-Mobile HotSpot or airport.. Select the Connection tab at the top to continue

 

7.On the Connection tab, make sure that Connect using my local area connection (LAN) is selected, and then click the Advanced tab at the top

 

8. On the Advanced tab, make sure that your Incoming server (POP3) is set to 110 and your Outgoing server (SMTP) is set to 25. Click OK to return to the main Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window.

 

9. At this point, you can test your settings by clicking the Test Account Settings... button. If everything is configured properly, each of the tests will have a green check mark next to them. If any of the tests fail, go back and make sure that each setting is configured correctly.

10. After you close the Test Account Settings... window, click Next and then Finish. You are now able to send and receive your mail.yourdomain E-Mail using Outlook 2003.

How to configure Outlook 2003 to send and receive E-mail while traveling

This FAQ guides you in setting up Outlook 2003 to be able to send and receive E-Mail from a remote location, such as a hotel, office, or T-Mobile HotSpot .

Open Outlook 2003, select Tools from the top menu, and then E-mail Accounts... from the pull down list

 

In the E-mail category, select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click the Next button to continue

 

Select your main.yourdomain E-Mail account, and then click the Change... button

 

On the Internet E-mail Settings page, click the More Settings... button located in the bottom right corner of the window

Select the Outgoing Server tab, and put a check in the box labelled My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Then, select Use same settings as my incoming mail server, and click OK to return to the previous screen

At this point, you can test your settings by clicking the Test Account Settings... button. If everything is configured properly, each of the tests will have a green check mark next to them. If any of the tests fail, go back and make sure that each setting is configured correctly.

After you close the Test Account Settings... window, click Next and then Finish. You are now able to send and receive E-Mail from a remote location.

How do I setup Outlook 2002 for E-mail?

To open Outlook 2002 double-click the Microsoft Outlook icon on your desktop

 

If this is the first time using Outlook, the Outlook 2002 Startup wizard will start. Click Next to continue

 

Select Yes on the E-mail Accounts screen, and click Next

 

For Server Type select POP3 and click Next to continue

 

On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) page you will need to fill in your information for each of the six fields. For Your Name type in your name, for E-mail Address type in your full e-mail address. In the User Name field type in your user name (which is full e-mail address) and in the Password field type in your password. For Incoming mail server (POP3) type in mail.yourdomain. For Outgoing mail server (SMTP) type in mail.yourdomain. When each of the six fields have been filled, click the Test Account Settings ... button

 

If everything was entered correctly, you will see a screen similar to the one below. If anything shows up as Failed, return to the previous window and double-check your settings

 

At this point you have finished setting up Outlook 2002 and need to click the Finish button
